Developed From Hands-On Hospitality Cleaning Experience
WorClean was created using the operational knowledge of Hoan Clean, a hospitality cleaning brand under SM Holdings.
Managing cleaning for lodging facilities demands completing numerous tasks within the tight window between guest departure and the next arrival. Supervisors must organize schedules, deploy cleaning staff, communicate location-specific instructions, verify work progress, inspect photos, track supplies, and relay information to property owners and external vendors.
In many organizations, these activities remain fragmented across messaging apps, phone calls, spreadsheets, printed checklists, and handwritten notes. As the number of properties and cleaners grows, disjointed communication often leads to missed verifications, inconsistent reporting, and an increasing reliance on individual managers.
WorClean consolidates these workflows into a unified system, enabling management firms, cleaning companies, individual cleaners, and property owners to access data relevant to their roles and permissions.

WorClean also retrieves reservation data in iCal format and presents lodging calendars separately from cleaning schedules. A Model Rooted in Field Operations
WorClean gains advantages from direct exposure to live cleaning activities. The Hoan Clean group currently oversees cleaning operations across 97 properties in Tokyo, Chiba, and Sapporo, with additional operations being developed in Asahikawa and Kushiro. More than 10 further properties are also slated for addition.
Through its own activities and regional collaborators, the initiative has access to a cleaning operations network of roughly 50 individuals. This figure refers to a coalition of cleaning businesses, individual cleaners, and regional partners and does not represent the employee count of WorClean or SM Holdings.
This network allows the project team to gather operational needs, test workflows, detect usability problems, and steadily refine the product using field feedback and operational data.
Planned Growth and Collaborations
WorClean is initially concentrating on vacation rentals, private lodging properties, small hotels, hospitality cleaning companies, vacation rental management firms, and licensed residential lodging management businesses.
Future development may involve deeper connections with property management systems, smart locks, access-control data, linen providers, inventory suppliers, and other hospitality technology services. The project also intends to broaden its use to hotels, property management, facility management, and multi-site operations.
After perfecting the product and business approach in Japan, SM Holdings is also exploring eventual growth into Southeast Asian markets, such as Vietnam and the Philippines. No overseas launch date or specific target market has been decided.
Development and management are currently directed by SM Holdings Co., Ltd. The firm is also making arrangements to create a new company centered around WorClean, with the goal of transferring related intellectual property and contracts into that entity at a later stage.
