This newly formed task group assembles AFC providers, device makers, network operators, technology vendors, regulatory bodies, and industry specialists to develop a unified framework that aligns with Ofcom's recently issued AFC specifications and facilitates efficient, interference-protected spectrum usage throughout the entire 5925-7125 MHz range. Previously, the Forum established the standards framework for the 6 GHz band in the United States together with the WiFi Alliance (https://winnforum.org/6-ghz-committee/).
As part of its efforts, the task group will produce a specification outlining UK AFC requirements and highlighting key distinctions from current FCC-based AFC frameworks. The group will also tackle a standardized device-to-AFC protocol by suggesting required changes to the WiFi Alliance for integration into the existing US-based protocol, generate requirements traceability resources, assist AFC testing initiatives, and assess the necessity for additional technical guidance documents.

The task group encourages participation from member organizations and individuals possessing expertise or interest in AFC systems, spectrum governance, wireless networking, regulatory adherence, testing, propagation modeling, cybersecurity, and 6 GHz technologies.
