Audio-based technology and product suite enhances wildlife mitigation offerings
Now that we’ve brought SoundGard into the TransGard portfolio, we can continue expanding our applications, and providing the long-term innovation and support our customers expect.”— Bill Marks, Vice President of Sales, TransGardYORK, PA, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — TransGard has announced the purchase of the Soundscape™ technology platform, its associated intellectual property, and product line from Guardian Technologies Group.
The product line will be marketed under the SoundGard™ brand, broadening TransGard’s range of wildlife mitigation solutions for electric utilities, industrial facilities, transportation infrastructure, telecommunications, renewable energy, and other critical infrastructure markets.
This acquisition builds on a formerly exclusive partnership between the two firms and places the proven technology under TransGard’s direct ownership.
TransGard had been acting as the exclusive commercial partner for the SoundGard™ system, introducing the technology to clients seeking a science-based, humane approach to managing nuisance birds and wildlife.
The SoundGard™ system leverages Guardian’s Soundscape™ technology, which is engineered to mask wildlife communication, making the affected area unsuitable for habitation or roosting. Unlike conventional “scare” sounds that only cause wildlife to temporarily relocate while evaluating the “threat,” SoundGard™ delivers a science-based, non-lethal method to consistently deter birds and other nuisance wildlife from the protected area across a broad range of environments.
“I first saw what SoundGard could do during a 2024 Kansas State University study that paired our laser bird defense system with Guardian’s Soundscape technology,” said Bill Marks, Vice President of Sales at TransGard. “The results were compelling. Since then, we’ve seen customers trial the technology and many have gone on to add it to their wildlife mitigation systems. Now that we’ve brought SoundGard into the TransGard portfolio, we can continue investing in the technology, expand its applications, and provide the long-term innovation and support our customers expect.”
The technology has been refined through more than five years of research and development and is backed by over 20 university studies. SoundGard™ is employed to help protect substations, industrial facilities, warehouses, communication towers, transportation hubs, distribution centers, and other critical infrastructure where wildlife activity can create operational challenges, contamination, and increased maintenance requirements.
This acquisition reinforces TransGard’s standing as a full-service provider of wildlife mitigation solutions. Alongside the company’s Animal Fence Systems and Laser Bird Defense solutions, SoundGard™ widens TransGard’s capacity to assist customers in addressing multiple wildlife challenges through complementary technologies customized to individual sites and operational needs.
