Rifmont Group Develops Proprietary AI System for Construction Using Private Project Data

Rifmont Group is working on a proprietary artificial intelligence system tailored for construction, drawing on confidential project data and operational knowledge to aid internal choices.

NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, August 31, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — AI adoption is quickly becoming the norm in the construction sector. Jagroop Bhumber, who founded Rifmont Group, believes that in the future, having access to AI technology itself will be less important than the data underpinning it.

Rifmont Group — a development, infrastructure, and advisory firm with offices in Vancouver and New York — is building a confidential AI environment centered on construction expertise gathered through actual project experience.

Only a small number of details have been shared.

This system aims to link data across estimating, procurement, permitting, project sequencing, historical costs, and execution records. Instead of developing a commercial AI product, the goal is to create an internal intelligence layer built on proprietary data and hands-on experience.

“Artificial intelligence itself will eventually become universal. The competitive advantage will come from systems trained on proprietary information unavailable to the broader market,” Bhumber said.

The New York Journal earlier covered Rifmont Group’s intention to allocate as much as $10 million across real estate, development, and infrastructure projects. AI is anticipated to factor into this plan, with funds possibly going toward private computing systems, exclusive datasets, and niche technical expertise.

Possible uses include analyzing procurement and permitting processes, as well as detecting cost irregularities and operational hazards before substantial funds are deployed.

The precise method of building this system has not been revealed. Rifmont Group has shared very few specifics about its structure, training approach, or the volume of data being compiled.

This secrecy appears to be deliberate.

“The objective isn’t to build technology for the market. It is to build technology capable of competing with the market,” Bhumber said.

With powerful AI models growing easier to obtain, the edge may no longer come from the models themselves. Custom project records, specialized data collections, and operational knowledge built over time are far more difficult to duplicate.

For Bhumber and Rifmont Group, the true worth may lie in withholding that knowledge from the public.

The construction industry’s most valuable AI might not be the one with the largest user base.

It could be the one that never gets released to the public.
