PwC and Auditchain Labs join forces on regulatory disclosure automation

The alliance merges PwC’s expertise in regulation, law, and capital markets with Pacioli.ai, Auditchain’s protocol for automated disclosure and validation.

ZUG, ZUG, SWITZERLAND, October 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — PwC and Auditchain Labs AG (“Auditchain”) have unveiled a partnership designed to deliver agentic regulatory disclosure automation and external validation to crypto-asset issuers and capital market participants across the globe. The collaboration pairs PwC’s regulatory, legal, and advisory know-how with Pacioli.ai—Auditchain’s agentic AI disclosure and validation protocol.

Together, PwC and Auditchain will deliver integrated offerings that help organizations prepare, validate, and file regulatory disclosures with greater efficiency and auditability. Pacioli.ai streamlines the creation of financial and non-financial disclosure models and outputs them in structured formats—including XBRL and iXBRL, which are mandated by more than 140 regulators across 65 jurisdictions—while its validator network supplies independent, corroborated external checks. PwC contributes independent legal and advisory capabilities to ensure alignment with supervisory expectations.

“As capital markets shift onchain, regulatory disclosure must evolve,” remarked Dr. Hagen Weiss, Digital Assets Legal Leader at PwC. “Issuers need disclosures that are compliant, computable, traceable, and auditable. Whether under MiCAR in Europe or the emerging GENIUS and CLARITY Acts in the United States, the direction is unmistakable—and this partnership positions PwC and Auditchain at the leading edge.”

START: MiCAR White Paper Disclosure Automation

The initial rollout is START — Submission, Traceability, Automation, Reporting & Transparency — a coordinated solution addressing obligations under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR). With the MiCAR Implementing Technical Standards now released, issuers of e-money tokens (EMTs), asset-referenced tokens (ARTs), and other crypto-assets face strict demands for white paper preparation, validation, and filing in iXBRL.

Powered by Pacioli.ai, START provides each client with a dedicated, secure workspace for MiCAR compliance, enabling cooperation between internal teams and external advisors with full traceability, version control, and role-based permissions:

Template-based composition workflows aligned with MiCAR ITS for EMTs, ARTs, and other crypto-assets
Internal and external checks against the complete MiCAR ITS, identifying gaps and non-compliant elements
Export to iXBRL for direct regulatory submission, plus .xls, .pdf, and .html for internal review and publication
Granular user management and governance controls, including integrated End User Agreement workflows

External Validation

START incorporates PwC’s function as external validator, offering independent regulatory review alongside the platform’s automated checks. Every validation result, version alteration, and stakeholder approval is logged and time-stamped, producing an evidence pack that cryptographically documents who reviewed what, when, and on what grounds—an audit trail essential under supervisory oversight.

“START is built for defensibility by design,” noted Dr. Michael Huertas, Partner and Global & European Financial Services Legal Leader at PwC. “By weaving PwC’s independent regulatory expertise into automated compliance validation, we provide issuers a solution that shortens timelines while upholding the highest standards of accuracy and traceability. As reporting mandates expand globally, the infrastructure scales across jurisdictions and frameworks.”

Pacioli.ai

Pacioli.ai applies agentic AI to regulatory disclosure and logs the outcomes. Purpose-built agents assess a filing against the rules that govern it, and no single model’s output is treated as final: independent agents bound by standardized machine-readable taxonomies review the same filing and must corroborate each other before a validation is finalized. Each conclusion, the supporting evidence, and the agents involved are recorded on a distributed ledger, yielding a tamper-evident record that supervisors, auditors, or investors can verify independently. Validators stake collateral against their findings, so accuracy carries economic weight rather than depending on manual oversight.

“Onchain capital markets feature attributes with no equivalent in TradFi and demand onchain disclosure frameworks, period,” said Jason Meyers, Lead Architect at Auditchain Labs AG. “Pacioli.ai’s governance features allow delegation of legal, accounting, and assurance functions at the protocol level to a network of specialists. We are delighted that PwC is joining our mission to institutionalize Pacioli.ai.”

Pacioli Explorer

Pacioli.ai will also introduce the Pacioli Explorer, a public interface showing compliance status for crypto-asset issuers and their service providers. Each project receives a color-coded badge—Green (compliant), Yellow (pending), or Red (deficient)—offering investors, exchanges, and regulators instant transparency, and embeddable on websites and listing applications. The Explorer aims to become the global gateway for regulatory disclosure.
