The newly granted patent broadens Pilot Games’ collection of intellectual property and furthers novel player experiences for regulated charitable gaming.
Pilot Gaming Systems, Inc., a company that creates electronic pull-tab games and related technology for charitable gaming groups throughout the U.S. and global lottery markets, announced today that the USPTO has granted U.S. Patent No. 12,705,949 B2, named “Standard Animated Roll-Up for Electronic Pull-Tab Gaming.”
This latest patent protects technology that delivers an animated, step-by-step prize-reveal experience in an electronic pull-tab game. Upon receiving a winning ticket, the system first shows the winning payline symbols but delays disclosing the final prize amount, then runs an animated “roll-up” sequence, after which it displays the payline symbols along with the actual prize awarded.
The patent further details other versions of the technology, such as roll-up displays triggered by player pre-play choices, Picture-in-Picture animation styles, longer roll-up sequences that include simulated prize reveals, and watermarked symbols that embed prize data while keeping it hidden from the player’s immediate view.
Pilot Games created this technology to offer more adaptability in displaying electronic pull-tab results and prizes across regulated charitable gaming markets. Since rules for prize presentation and disclosure differ from one jurisdiction to another, the technology supplies a standardized structure that can be adjusted to meet various regulatory demands while maintaining a uniform and captivating player experience.
For charitable gaming operators, this adaptability assists in rolling out established game ideas across several markets, cutting down on the necessity to rework fundamental game experiences for each separate jurisdiction.

This new patent adds to Pilot Games’ intellectual property holdings. Back in July 2025, the company received U.S. Patent No. 12,367,737, which protects its watermark technology for electronic pull-tab games. Combined, these patents mark back-to-back years of fresh U.S. patent coverage for features built into Pilot Games’ electronic pull-tab system.
