When a boutique advisory firm reaches billion-dollar transaction sizes within roughly two years of opening its doors, the market tends to take notice. That is precisely the trajectory for Kadenwood Group, the independent investment firm launched in 2024 by Louis Garoz-Ferguson, which has already advised on company sales and financings reaching the billion-dollar scale.
Founder and managing partner Louis Garoz-Ferguson launched the firm in 2024; its first client, a listed real estate trust, is still a client.

We closed our $40 million credit facility with National Bank in the end. I have a lot of respect for you guys and what you did.. I think we got something like 20 offers when we did that refinancing…”— Juan Carlos Sandoval, CFO, Andean Precious Metals
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA, November 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Kadenwood Group, the independent investment group and advisory firm founded by Louis Garoz-Ferguson, has advised on company sales and financings up to the billion-dollar range since its launch in 2024. The firm currently serves as sell-side advisor to Doosan GridTech on its carve-out sale, an engagement run by its own team and still ongoing. Debt advisory work has also been completed for Andean Precious Metals and Ashley Black, with the full roster of engagements available on its PitchBook profile.

The firm’s first client arrived within a week of launch — a listed real estate trust. Just three weeks after an initial dinner with the trust’s principal, Kadenwood Group brought in a strategic investor, an industrial REIT, and then advised the trust on a nine-figure financing that included a backstop commitment. That trust remains a client today. On the larger end, the firm has also advised on a financing in the billion-dollar range — the biggest deal of Garoz-Ferguson’s career.
Garoz-Ferguson, a Vancouver native, started his professional life doing investor-relations and marketing for listed small and mid-cap companies in mining and technology, including Austin Gold and Infinity Stone Ventures. He also led institutional investor sourcing for a capital raise by Renaissance BioScience. Two Vancouver investment bankers served as his mentors, and in 2024 he persuaded the second one to come out of retirement and co-found Kadenwood Group with him.
Garoz-Ferguson’s profile has also landed him on the cover of Acquisition Aficionado, Issue 49 (https://kadenwoodcapital.com/press/acquisition-aficionado-issue-49). Juan Carlos Sandoval, CFO of Andean Precious Metals, on raising capital with Kadenwood Group
Why it matters: Kadenwood Group’s rapid ascent from launch to billion-dollar transactions in under two years signals that smaller, independent advisory firms can compete with established players in high-stakes M&A and capital-raising work. The sustained relationship with its first client and the ongoing Doosan GridTech engagement suggest the firm is building a repeat-business model, not just chasing one-off deals.
