Matrix, version 2 from idGenius, rests on the concept of a unified identity tier for AI agents, supporting business logic, oversight, and expense control.

CHICAGO, IL, UNITED STATES, October 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — idGenius has unveiled Matrix, the second iteration of its identity security platform for AI agents, alongside the company’s formation as a standalone operating entity. Anomalix will maintain its separate operations, delivering consulting, deployment, and managed services.

AI agents are now actively deployed and generating code within enterprise apps and cloud environments. They leverage service accounts, APIs, credentials, invoke tools, retrieve data, and assign tasks. A simple access log may indicate what an agent can access, but it fails to reveal the complete business picture: the agent’s owner, the project it supports, the reason it requires a particular tool, and the dependencies tied to it.

Matrix employs a relationship ontology to securely link agents to their owners, teams, business objectives, projects, credentials, tools, data, policies, and fellow agents. idGenius then applies that context to oversee actions instantaneously as they occur.

“Companies are relying on obsolete methods and tools to protect AI agents,” stated Mohammed Elkhatib, CEO of idGenius. “AI agents function more as entities than as identities. Matrix ties authority directly to business intent. Our harness supplies agents with the business, security, and operational context they require during execution. Developers and security personnel no longer have to operate in separate silos to create, safeguard, or halt an agent when necessary.”

Other agents can utilize the idGenius agent harness to request policy decisions prior to executing actions. Matrix leverages Open Policy Agent (OPA) and its Rego policy language to articulate and assess rules derived from the relationship ontology, subsequently providing those decisions via integrations at Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool boundaries. As a result, an agent’s intended tool invocation can be checked against its identity, owner, purpose, authorized resources, and current risk level before it is allowed to proceed.

Matrix additionally includes an agent kill switch. If an agent needs to be restricted, idGenius can block subsequent actions at associated enforcement points, while displaying the owner, resources, and dependent workflows impacted by that determination. The objective is to equip responders with both a means to intervene and the background needed to grasp the repercussions.

“An agent might take a technically correct route yet still act outside its authorized business scope,” remarked John Johnson, co-founder of idGenius. “The harness enables other agents to solicit a decision at the moment of execution. The relationship model provides the context underlying that choice.”

Matrix integrates six core functions: discovery, learning, governance, enforcement, observation, and auditing. It also links agent actions and token consumption to business objectives, assisting organizations in detecting wasteful spending and tracking shifts in risk, capital outlay, and operational costs.

“AI agents establish fresh chains of command spanning tools, data, and companies,” noted Ed Jackiowak, an early backer of Anthropic and a board member at idGenius. “Businesses must be able to observe those chains and maintain authority when an agent’s behavior or objective shifts. That is precisely the challenge Matrix is designed to solve.”

As a standalone operating entity, idGenius will concentrate on advancing and providing Matrix. Anomalix will keep its distinct identity for advisory consulting, deployment, and managed services.
