The inaugural vehicle from Gridwater’s new fleet is being exhibited following the October 1 memorandum of understanding between the organizations.
CLEARWATER, FL, UNITED STATES, October 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — On October 1, Gridwater, Inc. (a Water On Demand company), Water On Demand, Inc., and Omega Liquid Waste Solutions signed a memorandum of understanding. Just days later, they are already collaborating in the field. The following week, Gridwater will present its first treat-in-place unit, which runs on Omega’s technology, at the WEQ Fair from October 5-7 at the Nashville Fairgrounds.
The WEQ Fair is the venue where contractors and municipalities gather to explore operational methods. It features indoor exhibits and live outdoor demonstrations of functional equipment. This year, 79 exhibitors are participating. It is not a convention center; it is the actual working environment.
The unit displayed on the floor incorporates Omega’s equipment. Through Gridwater’s platform, a qualified local operator can obtain that truck along with operations and maintenance support, enabling the development of a more concentrated and extensive route. Water On Demand assesses financing options for approved deployments. In the past, an operator seeking this level of technology needed roughly half a million dollars upfront to purchase it.
The traditional approach to deploying such equipment involved selling as many trucks to as many buyers as possible—a race to the bottom. This partnership envisions a different path. Omega holds a strong financial incentive to position the appropriate units with the right operators in suitable locations. Gridwater improves Omega’s technology, while Omega strengthens Gridwater’s business model. The truck is the visible manifestation of the work; what operators ultimately examine is the underlying model it supports.
The memorandum of understanding is intended to result in a five-truck pilot program starting in 2027. The more specific contracts for that pilot are currently being finalized. These initial five units are meant to validate the model in real-world conditions and pave the way for the larger commercial partnership the companies aim to establish.
"The ink isn't even dry on our agreement and within days we're already in the operating field with our new partner, enhancing both business models. I think that's a great look at what this partnership will be like. Gridwater enhances Omega's technology. Omega enhances Gridwater's model. That's what will be seen on the floor," said Ken Berenger, CEO and co-founder of Water On Demand and co-founder, president and executive chairman of Gridwater.
