As Florida’s first condominium, CORA Merrick Park signs on to the International WELL Building Institute’s newly launched WELL for residential Program

CORAL GABLES, FL, UNITED STATES, July 23, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Constellation Group and The Boschetti Group revealed today that CORA Merrick Park is taking part in the International WELL Building Institute’s (IWBI) WELL for residential initiative, marking the first condo development in Florida to do so. The project is aiming for WELL Residence certification for its units, demonstrating a dedication to independently validated benchmarks for occupant health, comfort, and overall well-being.

Developed by IWBI—the worldwide organization behind the WELL Building Standard—the WELL for residential initiative delivers an evidence-based structure for weaving health and wellness strategies into the design, construction, and operation of homes. The applicable strategies at CORA Merrick Park will undergo third-party verification, and once that process is successfully completed, its residences will earn the WELL Residence designation.

Situated at 4241 Aurora Street in Coral Gables' exclusive Merrick Park area, CORA Merrick Park is a boutique condominium featuring 74 residences, currently under construction and slated for completion in 2028. Pricing for units starts in the $900,000s and goes up to more than $4 million for penthouses. Arquitectonica designed the project, with interiors handled by Urban Robot.

“Today, luxury is more and more defined not just by a home’s appearance, but by how it enhances the way people feel and operate on a daily basis,” said Eduardo Otaola, Managing Principal at Constellation Group. “By seeking WELL Residence designation at CORA Merrick Park, we are implementing a globally recognized, third-party framework for our wellness approach, giving buyers increased confidence that these features are being designed and assessed against a meaningful benchmark.”

The WELL for residential program encompasses over 100 strategies covering air and water quality, lighting, acoustics, thermal comfort, movement, and mental well-being. CORA Merrick Park joins an initial cohort of participating residential projects spanning multiple countries and housing types, alongside organizations including Lendlease, Corvias, Johnson Development, and Cotown.

At CORA Merrick Park, wellness goes beyond the certification framework into the broader resident experience. Spanish wellness consultancy Lamarca Well—creators of Madrid's first wellness hub—is designing a comprehensive wellness program focused on longevity, performance, and daily well-being. Planned features include advanced air and water purification, acoustic engineering, low-toxicity materials, biophilic design, a fitness and recovery center, infrared sauna, steam room, contrast hydrotherapy pools, red-light therapy, and a rooftop wellness loop. After completion, wellness principles will also be integrated into property management, encompassing staff training, cleaning protocols, and select food-and-beverage offerings.

“Health and well-being cannot be achieved with a single amenity; they must be woven into the entire living environment,” said Mayra Capriles, Co-Founder of Lamarca Well. “At CORA Merrick Park, this philosophy shapes the building systems, materials, amenities, operations, and resident experience. The WELL for residential program offers a rigorous structure for assessing that comprehensive approach.” The WELL for residential program was crafted over two years with input from more than 100 experts in architecture, engineering, public health, building science, government, and real estate. The resulting framework establishes measurable strategies for creating healthier residential environments and offers third-party verification that those strategies have been put into effect.
