On Tuesday, the fintech revealed it had obtained $70 million through a round it describes as Series B1. A representative for the company informed American Banker that Flex’s valuation has climbed to $1.2 billion, more than doubling since its December 2025 B round, which brought in $60 million.
Additionally, Flex introduced Flex Global, its new global business banking offering, which will leverage stablecoin infrastructure to handle cross-border payments for clients.
“Middle-market business owners are one of the most important and underserved customers in finance globally,” said Flex founder and CEO Zaid Rahman. “Depending on the type of owner, they’ll tell you their vendors are spread across the U.S., Poland, Brazil, etc; their accounts hold currency outside of just U.S. dollars; and they have to oscillate across two to three vendors and layers of fees just to do business outside their country.”
Flex, which is owned by Flexbase Technologies, was established in 2022 and came out of stealth mode in September 2023 with a business credit card and expense tracking tool. Today, it provides a comprehensive suite of financial services, including payment automation, expense management, credit cards, and banking for both business and personal use.
According to a company representative, the fintech’s sponsor bank partners consist of Column Bank, Lead Bank, and Thread Bank.
