Haynes, who will be a senior at John Carroll Catholic High School this fall, and Nelson, who will be a senior at Troy University, completed the eight-week summer internship experience and showcased their work at the 2026 Alabama Data Scholars Showcase held July 31st at the McWane Science Center.
The Alabama Data Scholars Program, powered by QuantHub in partnership with Innovate Alabama, links students with Alabama companies for project-based, paid internships focused on data analytics, data science, and artificial intelligence, while also offering technical upskilling, professional development, and exposure to emerging career paths.
For Bankably™, participating in the program for a second consecutive year directly supports its work at the crossroads of technology, financial literacy, and capital access.
Over the summer, Haynes and Nelson collaborated with the Bankably™ team on data evaluation, platform testing, analytics, and dashboard development. Their tasks included creating and testing user accounts, assessing the customer journey from a new user’s viewpoint, testing bank-statement functionality and the Business Bankability Score™, documenting discoveries and areas for improvement, organizing platform data, developing analytical questions, and building dashboards meant to turn Bankably™ data into actionable business insights.
Their contributions were not just academic. Findings from their user testing and analysis were integrated into ongoing discussions about Bankably™’s platform features, user experience, and data strategy.
