Through an SBIR Phase III contract, AlphaBravo’s Kubernetes fleet and lifecycle management platform is being expanded to simplify the delivery of combat system software to the Fleet.
FREDERICK, MD, UNITED STATES, July 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — AlphaBravo, a veteran-owned small business focused on defense platform engineering and DevSecOps, has announced the receipt of a task order under its Navy Basic Ordering Agreement. This order calls for the incorporation of Tools Platform as a Service (TPaaS) capabilities into Pioneer, the firm’s Kubernetes fleet and lifecycle management platform. The initiative aims to facilitate easier deployment of Integrated Combat System (ICS) software to the Fleet.
This task order continues AlphaBravo’s collaboration with the Naval Surface Warfare Center as an SBIR Phase III initiative, building upon technologies created and validated during the company’s SBIR Phase II award with Navy PEO Integrated Warfare Systems.
Currently, deploying and maintaining combat system software across the Fleet demands considerable manual engineering work. Container images require hardening and verification. Baselines must remain uniform across ships and shore installations. Updates must reach platforms that operate in disconnected states for long periods. Pioneer tackles these issues through automated fleet-scale lifecycle management, integrated compliance evidence, and delivery workflows specifically designed for air-gapped and denied environments.
As part of this task order, AlphaBravo will embed TPaaS capabilities directly into Pioneer, offering Navy program teams a unified platform to build, harden, deliver, and operate containerized combat system software—from the development environment all the way to the ship.
“Sailors and program offices should not have to piece together a dozen tools to get software to the Fleet,” stated Chad Serino, CEO and Founder of AlphaBravo. “This integration places the entire pathway in a single location. Build it, harden it, deliver it, run it, wherever the mission goes. That is what simplified deployment truly means.”
This initiative aligns with the Navy’s broader goal of achieving faster and more consistent software delivery for integrated combat systems. It also expands a capability already in use within an active Department of Defense weapon system program of record.
