New role underscores eMM’s expanding U.S. presence and its ongoing dedication to the American market
eMedia Monitor (eMM), a broadcast intelligence platform and worldwide leader in live radio, TV, and online audio and video monitoring, has announced that Larry Thomas has been appointed as Vice President, Americas. This move, which brings on board a seasoned senior executive in public relations and marketing technology, highlights eMM’s ongoing investments in the U.S., where it has established a monitoring network for television, radio, and podcasts spanning all 210 DMAs and 50 states. It also signals the next phase in broadening its operational reach across North and South America.
With over two decades of experience in building and scaling media intelligence and PR technology operations in the U.S., Thomas most recently spearheaded U.S. business development at UNICEPTA, following a period of driving growth at Talkwalker prior to its acquisition by Hootsuite, and at Bulletin Intelligence both before and after its purchase by Cision. Earlier in his career, he served as a founding executive and president of MultiVu, the video PR arm of PR Newswire, and later as COO of Medialink Worldwide, a NASDAQ-listed leader in broadcast PR and media technology, where he played a key role in bringing Teletrax, a content-verification project with Philips, to market.
In his new capacity, Thomas will steer eMM’s growth strategy throughout the Americas, enhancing its emphasis on detailed, local-market reach in the U.S. while also expanding its customer base among American communications and data analytics professionals. This will be supported by larger marketing, customer success, and research teams. The expansion also enables U.S. clients to consolidate their needs with a single provider, allowing them to integrate international requirements with their domestic coverage under one system with uniform methods and metrics, thereby reducing the costs and complexities associated with managing multiple vendors. As an AI-first organization, eMM integrates AI across its monitoring and analysis processes, organizing its data so clients can easily incorporate it into their own AI systems and workflows.
Larry Thomas, Vice President, Americas, eMedia Monitor: “Throughout my career, I’ve focused on helping global media intelligence firms build and expand their U.S. operations, and I’m eager to apply that expertise to eMM at this crucial stage of its American growth. There’s a significant chance to provide U.S. organizations with the type of broad, cross-border broadcast insights that have often been absent from their resources, and I’m excited to develop that further.”
Thomas Netousek, Founder and CEO, eMedia Monitor, and a board member of the International Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC): “Larry has successfully built U.S. operations for several top names in media intelligence, and he has a solid history of converting that foundation into sustained growth. Bringing his expertise in-house marks a major milestone in our U.S. strategy, and we’re delighted to have him at the helm.”
eMM’s network now includes 1,811 television and radio channels and 55,800 podcasts across the U.S., with these figures growing on a weekly basis. This is part of the company’s global reach, which spans over 4,500 broadcast channels and more than 130,000 podcasts in 94 countries and 42 languages, all monitored in real time around the clock, with the capacity to review up to 4 million podcasts. Brands and organizations interested in tracking or uncovering trends in U.S. broadcast, radio, and podcast content are encouraged to contact eMedia Monitor to explore how the company can assist them.
